Heath Bar Trifle

Layered no bake chocolate brownie pudding trifle with whipped cream and crunchy toffee bits

INGREDIENTS

Base

  • 1 9 x13 inch pan brownies cooled and cut into 1 inch cubes or 8 cups brownie cubes
  • 1 tbsp caramel sauce optional for drizzling.

Pudding Layer

  • 2 boxes 3.9 oz instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk.

Cream Layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz whipped topping thawed or 3 cups sweetened whipped cream.

Topping

  • 1 1/2 cups toffee bits or 6 Heath bars crushed
  • chocolate syrup optional.

INSTRUCTIONS

Prep Components

  • whisk pudding mix with cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened then refrigerate 5 minutes
  • beat cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth then fold in whipped topping until fully combined
  • crush Heath bars if using bars.

Assemble Trifle

  • add a layer of brownie cubes to a 3 to 4 quart trifle bowl or deep glass dish
  • spread a layer of pudding then a layer of cream mixture and sprinkle toffee bits
  • repeat layers until ingredients are used ending with cream and toffee bits on top
  • drizzle caramel or chocolate syrup if desired.

Chill And Serve

  • cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight for best texture
  • serve cold.

Notes

1. Use store bought brownies or chocolate cake to save time; Substitute vanilla pudding for a lighter flavor or use half chocolate and half vanilla; For a firmer trifle chill overnight and add toffee bits to the top just before serving for maximum crunch; Use stabilized whipped cream if making more than 1 day ahead
